Re: Rock Band II - Discussion Thread
Didnt even realize i havent voted for last weeks. So I vote NO for that.
i will have to wait and listen to these tracks first before I decide anything
Gonna vote for yes to all this week. The songs seem good, plus the proceeds go to charity.

Re: Rock Band II - Discussion Thread
The PS3 Les Paul patch for Rock Band is currently available to download. I wonder what finally motivated Red Octane to do it? Anyways, better late than never.
This is great news for me since I despise Harmonix's Stratocaster (no strum clicking, dropping notes, faulty tilt recognition, and large body). I'm currently using the Nyko Frontman Guitar and am not very fond of the neck, but I still think it's way better than the Stratocaster.
Edit: Just bought a new PS3 Les Paul on eBay for $40. Can't wait to try it out on Rock Band since I already love my Wii Les Paul. Now I need to get rid of my Wii GH3!

Re: Rock Band II - Discussion Thread
pretty excited about the new patch. The rock band guitar, the overdrive ALWAYS goes off. I need to have it on a negative angle (pointing downwards) so it wont go off. It isnt that big of a deal, but i know it has kicked me in the ass sometimes, like when i need to save it for a tough solo, lol.

Re: Rock Band II - Discussion Thread
Here's the DLC for 9/18:
Megadeth's full album "Peace Sells…But Who’s Buying?"
(1.99 each, 10.99 for all)
Wake Up Dead
The Conjuring
Devil’s Island
Good Mourning / Black Friday
Bad Omen
I Ain’t Superstitious
My Last Words
Rock Band Tour 4-pack
(0.99 each)
“One of Those Nights” by the Cab
“Hands Down” by Dashboard Confessional-
“She’s a Handsome Woman” by Panic! At the Disco
“Natural Disaster” by Plain White T’s
My Vote:
No to all RB Tour 4-pack songs. Still need to listen to Megadeth before making judgment. It'll probably be a no, though.

Re: Rock Band II - Discussion Thread
Traded in Rock Band to Blockbuster for $26 credit towards Rock Band 2 after I exported the original songs. I will still buy dlc, it was just too good of a deal to pass up, and I am afraid that trade in value of Rock Band will go down once Rock Band 2 comes out. I still have GH3 and the Aerosmith demo to keep me busy, lol.
Other interesting note is that I am too used to the Stratocaster, Les Paul is so different. I am actually doing worse with it for the time being, lol
I will have to listen to all the songs this week before I decide if I want any of them.

Re: Rock Band II - Discussion Thread
Does anyone know what happens to the imported RB1 songs if you have to re-format your harddrive (after backing up your PS3)?
I'm contemplating on trading it in, too, but I just don't wanna be screwed in case I have to re-format my system in the future.
Renting the game is always an option, though.

If you do a full backup, with all the game data, it should still be fine, i would think.

Re: Rock Band II - Discussion Thread
You cant back up RB tracks, you would need to re-download everything. Unless something changed in the last 6 months because thats what I had to do. My concern is if I upgrade my HD would I need to re-buy the code again, I am ok with renting the game to reinstall but if I need to keep paying for the code that will suck.

The code is in the download management of your account history. Would probably still be there, mine still is.

Re: Rock Band II - Discussion Thread
So it looks like some of us are really anticipating for RB2.
Now that they've announced online BWT, are any of you guys interested in playing online together once a week (or maybe more)?
I can do Medium vocals, Hard guitar (have trouble with the very high tiers, though), and Expert bass.

Re: Rock Band II - Discussion Thread
Yeah, that would be pretty cool. I am awful at vocals, can do medium drums, but I really don't have a good seating arrangement for it. I need to get a drum throne, because what I have now, I sit way too low for the kick bass do be comfortable.
But expert guitar on most songs, except for the very hardest tiers, and expert bass as well, even though I really don't play it too much.
Gonna vote no to everything this week.

I'll vote no on everything this week also.
So does that mean this group will do RB2 downloads also or do we technically start a new one?

Re: Rock Band II - Discussion Thread
Logically speaking, wouldn't it make sense for Harmonix to make all DLC backwards and forwards compatible? They are trying to treat it as a PLATFORM and if they made DLC exclusive to RB2, that would alienate their consumer base along with their money. And who doesn't want to make money and fans?StrandedBrit wrote:So does that mean this group will do RB2 downloads also or do we technically start a new one?

I would hope so, but I have a sneaky suspicion that RB2 only stuff will appear.

Re: Rock Band II - Discussion Thread
From what I understood, that all DLC will be compatible with both RB1 and RB2, at least for the time being, there might be some time in the future where DLC will only support RB2, but I doubt it. I think RB2 is just an updated version of RB1, new graphics, venues, character options, etc.
