So anybody want anything from yesterday?

At this point, I'm so full of games I could pass on pretty much everything every week.

FUCK! I'm sitting here playing Batman and all of a sudden my ps3 shuts off and I get the blinking red light

I'm really hoping I can get this fixed at least to the point where I can deactivate the accounts so I don't have to deal with CS over that.

So my plan now is to try and fix my ps3 using the "Gilksy fix" I found online which is basically opening it up and applying some thermal compound to the innards. Seems to have worked for a lot of people, but not sure how long it'll last after that. Hopefully that gets it booted so I can deactivate the account at the very least. (Forgot about SingStar DRM though, lame) Then, when the time is right I'll probably buy a Slim. So I probably won't be around on psn much until at least October because I'm in no hurry to pick up a new console.

So I got the YLOD fixed, but managed to screw up something else in the process. But, the good news is that I was able to deactivate the account so at least saved that headache.

Thats really all that matters. Now see if they will give you 150 for it at a lazy Gamestop

Won't be able to resume repairs on my ps3 until my house gets internet, which will hopefully be within a week.

And I haven't explored the settings yet, so not sure about the bass and everything.

Heads up BR, you may want to not use the Digital Mic Calibration tool thing. Pushes extremely loud static out of your speakers for like 2 minutes. Or you could be an asshole and wait until all your roommates are sleeping and do it The choice is yours lol

heh, did that the other day when only one was around. he didn't mind cuz i have the system in my room so the door was closed.

we have internet service but not one has a router so waiting for one to be mailed from online, should be here soon. then i can get back to repair work.

Did you figure out how to individually adjust settings? Its Under advanced setup. I messed around with it after finally hooking it up to a tv. I finally got a new TV too so my setup is up to par! Its a 32" Vizio but its 1080p so whatever

haven't messed with the settings at all. finally got a steady internet connection now though, so back to ps3 repair in my freetime.

No for everything else, although I will be buying the Red Faction Map Pack within the week out of my own money and adding to the account. It's only 7 bucks and it'll be pretty much required for RFG nights from now on.

Thanks for reminding me to download the Trine demo on PC. Just played it and its a pretty solid puzzler with some action thrown in. Not sure how easy it will be with a ps3 controller, but should be a solid purchase.
